Richard Paul Evans: New York Times Bestselling Author’s Vision Correction at Hoopes Vision
Richard Paul Evans recently had laser eye surgery at Hoopes Vision. Best known for his #1 best-selling book, The Christmas Box, Evans has also written 11 other consecutive New York Times bestsellers and is one of the few authors in history to have hit both the fiction and non-fiction bestseller lists. Other best-sellers include: The Gift, The Locket, Timepiece, Finding Noel, The Sunflower, The Last Promise, A Perfect Day, and The 5 Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth. The Christmas Box was made into an Emmy award-winning CBS television movie starring Maureen O’Hara and Richard Thomas. The book, originally self-published, became a local best-seller, prompting Evans to publish the book nationally. The next year it hit #2 on the New York Times bestseller list and incited an auction for the publishing rights amongst the world’s top publishing houses. Evans signed a publishing deal with Simon and Schuster and the book became the first book ever to simultaneously reach #1 for both paperback and hardcover editions. His new book Grace, is due out in October.
In 1994, Evans founded ‘The Christmas Box House International” charity to help abandoned, neglected or abused children. As of 2006, more then 13,000 children had been temporarily housed in the Christmas Box shelters. Richard and his wife, Keri, are parents to 5 children. In 2007, Evans founded Book Wise, a book club/multi-level marketing company.
The day after his eye surgery, Evans was thrilled with his experience and results. “This has been one of the very best things that I have ever done for myself,” Evans remarked. “I can’t believe what I was missing.”
