Power Outage

Last Thursday, July 31st, we experienced a power outage that affected the entire block.  The power was out from a little after 3:00 until just before 5 p.m.  Dr. Hoopes was performing LASIK surgery at the time and thanks to our state-of-the-art facilities, there was no affect on the procedures.  Our back-up power is designed to instantaneously kick in and allow surgery to continue uninterrupted.  Dr. Hoopes was able to confidently perform the rest of the LASIK and PRK procedures scheduled for that day.

This was just another example of how being prepared pays off.  The planning that has gone into our LASIK facility in case of emergency is extensive and is another way to ensure our confidence when treating patients.    It is our goal to provide an environment where patients will know that they are receiving leading edge technology, safe treatments, a knowledgeable staff, and well-trained, caring surgeons.
