DR. PHIL HOOPES, JR.: I think there’s a lot of things that makes our practice different from other places performing LASIK surgery. First of all, all our doctors are fellowship trained. That means we went above and beyond the training requirements to do LASIK surgery. Our fellowship training was not for weekend to learn to use the laser, but, rather, for a full entire year. And we also specialize in other types of eye surgery, such as cornea transplantation and cataract surgery. Secondly, our philosophy here, in our office, is to provide patients with what we feel is the best technology available. And that means we’re committed to upgrading our technology as it appears. You’ll find that we have our choices between six different FDA approved lasers. And the reason we have six is, simply, that every couple years, something safer, something better will come along. Some practices that you may go to have one or two laser systems, which they really trust. But they are not upgrading those to keep up with advances in the field of LASIK surgery.
