Flash Fox entertains at Utah Flash game
Friday, March 4th, was Hoopes Vision night at the Utah Flash Game! The NBA development team hosted the New Mexico Thunderbirds, winning with a final score of 106 to 88. The Doctors of Hoopes Vision, employees, and their families were there to witness this exciting victory. During the game, two lucky fans won LASIK surgery at Hoopes Vision at half price! The Flash Fox elevated the night’s energy level by inviting several of his mascot buddies, including; the Jazz bear, Real Salt Lake’s Leo, BYU’s Cosmo the Cougar, and the UVU Wolverine and mini wolverine and the Salt Lake Bees’ Bumble to help pump up the crowd.
The Flash wrapped up the weekend series against the T-Birds on Saturday, grabbing a 9-game winning streak, bringing their record to 23-15. Hoopes Vision is proud to support the Utah Flash as their official eye care provider and LASIK surgeons. We wish them success this season!

James Franco in 127 Hours
We hope you all enjoyed Sunday night’s Academy Awards show! At Hoopes Vision, we were particularly interested in the success of “127 Hours”, as our own Renee McIntosh, OD was able to lend a little help during the filming of this Utah-based project. Dr. McIntosh was asked to assist lead actor (and recent Oscar host), James Franco, in a scene that required him to put in a contact lens. After spending some time teaching the star how to insert contact lenses into his eye, Dr. McIntosh was on set throughout the filming of this scene. Just off camera, Dr. McIntosh prepared contact after contact for the star so that he could quickly pop it in his eye rather than having to fish it out of its case. She had a great time watching the behind-the-scenes workings of movie production, and enjoyed being part of the action. Congratulations to James Franco for his nomination for Best Actor, as well as the film’s 5 other nominations!
