It’s been fantastic to see so many people take advantage of our special for police officers, fire fighters, members of the military and their spouses. It is very rewarding to see these heroes of our society enjoying life without glasses or contact lenses. We understand that there are times these jobs can be dangerous; the last thing anyone would want to worry about is not being able to see clearly. Some of the most common remarks we hear from people after surgery are that it was worth every penny and that they wish they would have done it sooner.
We’ve been providing Utah LASIK surgery and other procedures since 2000 and with the newest technology available; we can do it better than ever. Some of the branches of the military may have restrictions on the type of refractive surgery that can be performed. Our LASIK counselors are happy to help in order to give you the information you need to determine the correct procedure for you. Using the Intralase FS laser to create the flap for LASIK and the safety of PRK we are able to provide the types of surgery that each branch may require. Having performed more Intralase surgeries than any other surgeon in Utah, Dr. Hoopes has the experience to ensure that all of his patients will be able to see clearly when it counts. The discounts for police, fire fighter, and military are our way of saying thank you for what you do!

The Sorenson Champion’s Challenge at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi, Utah was a lot of fun. The first day, Dr. Phillip Hoopes, Jr. had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to Golf in the Pro-Am portion of the events. He and a few others, were partnered up with one of our LASIK patients, Mike “Radar” Reid, and then with Mike Reid’s son Daniel Reid. They played a great game and competed against many other great golfers like, Annika Sorenstam, Jack Nicklaus, Craig Stadler, Hale Irwin, Dean Wilson, and many others. Dr. Hoopes, Jr. golfed so well that we started to get worried that he would stop doing LASIK and look into becoming a pro golfer. That evening, a charity auction and dinner was held and Hoopes Vision was able to donate a LASIK surgery to help the cause. The proceeds of the night went to the Annika Foundation and Art Works for Kids.
The next day was Dr. Hoopes’ birthday, and he was able to finally take a day off from doing LASIK and cataract surgery (which he loves, but who wouldn’t like to spend a day watching the greats play a few holes of golf. He spent the day watching the tournament and seemed to have a great time. Hoopes Vision also had a booth set up at the event to help educate people who were interested in LASIK surgery or cataract surgery. We were very happy to have met so many kind people there (both possible new patients as well as several of you who have had surgery before that stopped by to say “hi” and update us on how well they were seeing).
